Prison Journal: #4

“Solitary and the Arrival of Freedom”

NAMASTE’

Thank you all for your letters of encouragement. Anathoth Farm, Loaves & Fishes, the Franciscan Friars, Mary of the Passion, Embrace Foundation, 8th Day Peace and Justice Center, SOAW East Bay Group, and special thanks to the SOAW NE group in Philly for sending me a wonderful collage of photos from the November vigil. It was very meaningful to me. Thank you all for the wonderful support from around the country. Your thoughts and prayers find me well and really make all the difference. By simply knowing that we are together, crying, laughing, working, praying as one.

NO MAS! NO WAR!

Big things are happening!
Things are smoothly clicking away, as only such a well oiled machine as the IN-justice Dept.can. Word and deeds of torture and death of the innocent have reached my secluded word of peace. It troubles me so to hear that South Korea is joining in the war. They say the Divine works in mysterious ways. I can only pray that this will ultimately bring peace to the region.

When does freedom arrive and solidarity begin?
As it so begins, we as a civilization are inherently in prison. Trapped, ensnared and entangled in the karma of our choices and the external programming of our minds.

Out in the real world, we are NOT free.

Out in the community we are forced in some form of servitude to fulfill our culturally shared desires. Most work to acquire things that have been systematically programmed into almost everyone since birth. The gruesome and tragic fact is that of our American birthright has crippled our minds into believing we are such a free and peaceful society.

The truth that has been revealed to me is such that the world is far from the idealistic notion of highways and 7-11 fast food convenience. We live in fear, fear of loss of our attachments to our desires. We live in fear of nuclear annihilation. While in underdeveloped countries, people live in fear of getting shot in the street, moved in the middle of the night, or simply not getting enough to eat. WE as Americans live in fear of enduring such hardships; of not getting raises and other seemingly trivial things. When one lives in fear, one is not free. When one can learn to love everything equally, then, one can become free of this fear.

When we work to get enough money to buy things at Wal-Mart so we can make our isolated lives more comfortable, we fall further from community and unity of action. The people of this blue earth, the world over, are dying by the millions so that everyone can enjoy their CHOKE-A-COLA while driving down the highway, when every gallon of oil is equal to a pint of innocent blood that has to spill on foreign shores.

How can we as a nation continue knowing and not caring that the greasy wool of American dominance has been sewn shut over everyone that is too scared to lose their convenience to say,

“ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!”

Well, we know what is wrong, so, enough about ranting,

what about solving the problem?
Are we ready as a nation to begin taking steps towards engaging proactive solution by assuming personal responsibility for the world we wish to see? Who is ready to live simply so others may simply live?

The point is that America’s heart and minds is being held captive! First things first! One can start slow and work their way around it, so unplug, get out! Or simply smash your TV! Throw it out the window! So long as it don’t land on anyone… Well, perhaps one may feel inclined to dispose of it in a more eco-friendly fashion. Anyway,
GOT SOIL?
Grow what you know! Share with those that care! Your spending dollar is what matters most. Support what you feel is most endearing to your future. Local sustainability!

Care more! SPEND LESS! NO MAS! NO WAR!

Well,
here in prison life is regulated. Sure, but I know I have the golden opportunity to dream the big dreams, grow how I see fit. We are free from fear and control that is so deeply engrained and seriously taken for granted. It has been outright expected and almost continuously demanded. When on becomes incarcerated, one is freed from the fear of it. One becomes that.
Fear is removed.

But what is this?
When we no longer live in fear, can we really choose how we grow and evolve, both individually and as a planet?
I am free from the temptations and many attachments this world can offer. I am free from the mass media programmed concerns. Yes, Iraqi prisoners are being tortured, but we know that the paid-for media cannot ignore it any longer. We all know far too well that these horrors are just a mere glimpse of how maligned the Bush administration has gone to proliferate the secret agenda of the greedy and dangerous abominations of disgust. I propose spending money to develop the technology that will free us all from the Oil Barons once and for all.

Ethanol and hydrogen reforming has all the trademark signs of becoming the agent that has the potential to usher in a new era of renewed interest in developing a return to a global agricultural base.

As we continue, on and on, we may find ourselves standing united in solidarity. Will we choose to stand and allow our thoughts and minds to be heard over the roar of capitalistic dogma?
Suffering has been given meaning, some sense of purpose when shared with a common identifiable goal.

In solidarity,
I become free of the burden of any attachments to the idea of useless suffering and so in turn, it is transmuted into joy.

This so called punishment has transcended into growth and renewed determination. We cannot fear incarceration for we are “IT” already right now. The joy I carry brings a light hearted nature to everyone that can forgive and share it in their own joy and smiles.
Yes, the world is full of tragedy.

But, it has a purpose of serving the higher will as it brings hope and the world together to show everyone that war is not the answer and that we as humanity are stronger and intelligent and are capable of loving everyone and living in peace. We are not afraid to live in peace! We are not afraid to love each other… of this I pray…
Can they hear us say, “Freedom”?
Can they hear us say, “Close the SOA”?
Can they hear us say, “Shut down Project E.L.F. and stop nuclear proliferation”?
Can they hear us say, “Its time to evolve”?

How does freedom come to pass?

Our God-given right to choose how we as a community live has to be claimed and outright demanded. These things also need to be persistently removed for those that have been given the responsibility to work for us, namely politicians.

This is our lives they are throwing away!
It is our children that are being fed and led to their slaughter. The courage must be ours to claim. Or roll over and succumb to the vile temptations of the fast food media programming.

This is our time to live out lives. IT must be ours to decide!
How we live is just as important as how they die!
How can it continue!
The lack of addressing our children at an early age. What is stopping anyone of us from home-schooling our kids, your kids?

Give them what I was not… a choice.

The choice to just say NO to the grease, the cars, the oil, the nicotine, the blood, the fast food convenience that we have become bred to depend on. How can it stop?
More bloodshed?
War? Nuclear Annihilation? DNA manipulation?
Selective genocide threw the use of an economic guillotine? Where is it going to end?

I have a voice. I have a heart. It stops with me. It begins with me. I will become that shining example of how I believe it should be. Strive to build a solution that everyone can agree with and participate in a global celebration of life.

I will live life and build our future. My inaction allowed these tragedies to occur. I will die if necessary to correct such errors in our world, sharing the message of nonviolence as always. Today I pray
to build communication widely with everyone who is near and dear that can respond and has the courage to live the change they want to see and help build that ideal way to go.

Revolution? How about evolution?

“The devolution will not be televised,” as the laughing waters press so eloquently expressed. Neither will the rise of the insecti-cons, the giant humanoid cockroaches that survive our human stupidity.

For as much as we have learned and tried to exterminate humanity and utterly destroy the human species, our desires and skills to prevent out self-destruction are equally pervasive. We have become equally adept at surviving, no matter how dangerous we have become to ourselves.

But again, the choice is ours to do with this life as we will.

“THYNE WILL, NOT MINE BE DONE.”

Why not global rights to clean air, clean fresh food and safe shelter, etc? Men on Mars? Lunar land stocks? We are so way off track. Who is going to set things right? Everyone. Every individual that chooses to stand up and be counted.

In closing, and on a cheerful note, a WONDERFUL surprise occurred the other day. I have news that Wisconsin’s very own member of the Farmer to Farmer CO-OP, Craig Adams,
has recently been accepted to the fine ranks of the FPC Duluth Prison. With him carries the hope of carrying the SOAW POC torch for the remainder of his 90 day sentence.
Craig was able to self-report on June 22, after being turned away form Sandstone and ordered to report here instead.

So as it stands FPC Duluth has a total of seven months of SOAW exposure. But, ultimately it is a real treat to have a co-defendant to talk with and co-conspire with, as Jerry Z. has mentioned in his recent letter, (thanks Jerry) coming to a conspiracy nearest you!

Jerry’s letter brings home a clearer understanding of the meaning of solidarity for my mind. I remain uncertain if my planned 30 day fast will go as smoothly as I originally hoped. There have been some friends helping me maintain my sanity with regular visits to ensure that my reality does not become too abstracted. I hope to see every one soon. I will be released July 30th at 8am.

I am also working out plans to conduct a speaking tour in the up and coming months.

NO MAS! NO WAR!

Until we Meet again,

Breathe love,
Be well,
Do Frolic Much,
Where The Truth Is Free,
Your Humble Servant Of Global Peace.
